Run for the Beach 5K!
Sunday, June 8, 2014 – THANK YOU ALL!
Our 5th Annual Run for the Beach was a 5K road race on a fast course with ocean views, a few rolling hills and one water stop. 250 runners joined us.
Dane Street Beach at the intersection of Lothrop and Dane Streets in Beverly was a great place to begin and end the race. The park has a sandy beach, restrooms, playground, benches, grassy areas and sports fields.
This was a green road race—no bottled water and everything will be composted or recycled. We ended being a ZERO waste event!!!
Proceeds from this event will be used for water quality and salt marsh monitoring, training Adopt a Beach volunteers to identify sources of pollution on their beaches, teaching elementary and middle school children in our School to Sea program to be stewards of our coastal environment.
